PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 13, 2011 - There has been a lapse in Rome's Weekly Reports due to reorganization of our Mexican operations. We now have a new drill crew working with our Prospector II Reverse Circulation Drill (left photo below). Drilling costs have been cut by: (i) using one company 4-wheel drive vehicle instead of renting three vehicles, (ii) reducing the drill crew with supervisor from six persons to four, and (iii) eliminating time-consuming provision of meals to the crew. In addition as before, we hire a watchman to guard the drill during the night and holidays. The new crew has had some start-up learning, so the rate of drilling has been a little slower. However, we have now completed 59 holes. Logging of the chip boards also has fallen behind. In the coming weeks this geological control will be brought up-to-date. Analysis with this instrument for tungsten, molybdenum and lead is important because these valuable elements add significant dollar value to the West Zone mineralization.

2011 UPM Timber Bulletin - out now

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 09, 2011 - The bulletin called 'Trends and influences on the UK standing coniferous timber sales market' is   published once a year as an aid to growers and forest managers. It looks at imports, the impact of exchange rates, price trends, forecasts and other issues.

"The weak pound may not be to everyone's liking but it certainly benefits the timber industry. Without it, we would have been in a very different place over the last 18 months," explains Peter Whitfield, Timber Operations Director for UPM Tilhill.

Figures from the report highlight that demand for roundwood is currently stronger and price levels higher than they have be manual trash compactor en at any time in the last decade and UPM Tilhill predicts that 2011 will be another strong year.
